Selling a used car in Algeria is one of the most common transactions — and the one most prone to scams. This guide walks you through every step, from listing to final payment.
1. Set the right price
Use Dealyly to compare recent listings of the same model, year, and mileage in your wilaya. Avoid extremes: 10% above average scares serious buyers off; 10% below draws scammers.
2. Photos that sell
Take 8-10 photos in natural light. Cover: front, back, side, interior, trunk, engine, and a zoom on the odometer. Listings with under 5 photos get 3-4× fewer contacts.
3. Honest description
Mention everything: make, model, year, mileage, fuel, gearbox, equipment, service history, and any defects. Transparency shortens time-to-sale.
4. Negotiate confidently
On Dealyly, all conversations go through built-in messaging. Never share your number until you trust the buyer.
5. Secure the payment
Never accept a check for a used car. Prefer bank transfer (live or with on-send screenshot) or cash counted at a bank. Wait for the transfer to clear before signing.
6. Paperwork
Carte grise, current contrôle technique, signed transfer declaration in duplicate. Without these the new owner can't re-register the vehicle.
